As of 2008, Mullins was playing in the Los Angeles based band Year Long Disaster, Oswald was the drummer in Nebula, and Will Mecum was playing guitar for Treasure Cat. As of February 23, 2009 - Karma to Burn has reformed to play a US and European tour. This includes playing the Download Festival. New songs have been written and a new lp is anticipated.

Für das erste (selbstbetitelte) Album wurde allerdings auf Druck der Plattenfirma ein Sänger angeheuert, nur um wenig später wieder gefeuert zu werden, nachdem sich das Album kommerziell nicht durchsetzen konnte. Alle weiteren Aufnahmen waren nun wieder reine Instrumentals. Die Band löste sich Mitte 2002 auf und erlebte ihre reunion anfang Februar 2009.
