Kamboj or Kambohs are tribes of the Punjab region, said to be the modern representatives of the ancient Kambojas. They are found as Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims, Persians, Jaina and Buddhists and are mostly confined to northern parts of India, Pakistan and eastern Afghanistan. The original home of the Kambojas was Badakshan, southern parts of Tajikstan, including Pamirs and as far as Zeravshan in Central Asia .
