At his death, the leadership of the tribe was contested between two branches of the family, the Kalhora And the Daudpota. The Family of Amir Mehdi Khan Abbasi Known As Kalhoras And The Family of Amir Daud Khan Abbasi Known as Daudpotas Both Were brother. The Kalhora tribe established the Kalhora Dynasty that ruled Sindh from 1701 to 1783.
