KUDO is owned by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1547, a union representing nearly 5,000 Alaskan men and women in communities stretching from Barrow to Ketchikan in a diverse range of job classifications, from nuclear medical technician, to electrician, to librarian. It is managed by Tati Broadcasting (TB), a company of six radio stations; three owned by TB and three managed by the company. KUDO is led by Program Director and News Director Kathy Phillips, who has over 30 years of experience in broadcasting. The station was assigned the KUDO call letters by the Federal Communications Commission on January 25, 2002.
