Jurassien, also known as Jurassien-Méridional, is a dialect of the Franco-Provençal language, which is spoken in France in Doubs (department), Jura (department), and Ain; and in Switzerland in Neuchâtel (canton) and the northwest part of Vaud. The idea of a Jurassienne identity is shared by people all over this region. Despite the border separating France and Switzerland many people, known as "transfrontaliers" live in one country and work in another.
