Joseph Marcell (born 18 August 1948) is a Caribbean-born British actor, best known for his work as Geoffrey the snooty English butler on the NBC sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. He serves on the board of the Globe Theatre in London and is a British citizen. Joseph Marcell moved with his family to England when he was 5-years-old. He studied at Sheffield University in South Yorkshire and graduated from the Central School of Speech and Drama.
