  • 顧嘉煇，BBS（Joseph Koo，1933年1月1日－）是著名的香港作曲家及編曲家，是粵語流行曲（CantoPop）的重要創作人，有香港歌壇教父之稱。顧嘉煇至今創作了超過1,200首作品，當中不少是膾炙人口，至今仍被奉為經典的電視劇主題曲。 顧嘉煇在90年代已移民加拿大温哥華至今，但仍然和香港娱樂圈保持緊密聯系。目前是加拿大新時代電視温哥華諮詢委員會的委員。 顧嘉煇17歲從廣州到香港，最初與姐姐顧媚住在九龍的木屋區，生活窮困。顧嘉煇白天在洋行的化驗室工作，晚間讀夜校。顧媚最初在夜總會唱歌，後來於五、六十年代唱電影主題曲走紅。顧嘉煇因顧媚經常練習歌唱而對音樂產生興趣，從旁學習成為琴師。六十年代，顧嘉煇得邵逸夫資助，留學美國波士頓栢克萊音樂學院（Berklee College of Music）。回港之後曾在邵氏及嘉禾為電影作曲配樂。之後加入無綫電視，任音樂總監。他於七、八十年代創作眾多電視劇主題曲，揭起粵語流行曲熱潮。當中相當多的成功作品都是由顧嘉煇作曲、編曲，黃霑作詞。這個後來被稱作「煇黃」的組合至今仍為人津津樂道。後來顧嘉煇移居加拿大，黃霑亦因病退出樂壇。2004年底，黃霑因病去世，顧亦有回港拜祭他。 顧嘉煇於1982年獲英女皇授大英帝國員佐勳章（MBE），1998年獲香港特區政府授銅紫荊勳章。顧氏所得其他獎項多不勝數，較重要的包括香港作曲及作詞家協會音樂成就大獎，香港電台十大中文金曲最高榮譽獎，亞洲電影節最佳音樂、歌曲，香港電影金像獎，台灣金馬獎等等。 另澳門培正中學115周年紀念大樓頂層命名為「顧嘉煇體育館」，顧嘉煇校友與贊助人顧明均校友於2006年5月8日下午舉行揭牌儀式。據他透露，顧在香港淪陷期間曾在該校小學四年級寄宿就讀兩星期。 2007年，顧嘉煇再獲無線電視邀請，為慶祝香港主權移交十周年製作的電視劇歲月風雲創作主題曲《歲月風雲》，由張美賢作詞，李克勤、小剛合唱。他並於2008年1月3日至1月5日，應香港中樂團邀請，於其作品的專場音樂會《顧嘉煇名曲精選》擔任指揮。
