In 2003 he was a guest star on the FX Networks Nip/Tuck as a transsexual named Sofia Lopez. Since 2007, he has had a recurring role on The Closer as deputy medical examiner Dr. Morales. Del Arco emigrated with his family from Uruguay to New York at 10. At 18, he moved to West Hollywood to pursue acting.
