Jokin Ormaetxea Badiola was a Spanish professional road racing cyclist who rode for Team Paternina-Costa de Almería. Ormaetxea was a passenger in an Audi A3 driven by fellow cyclist Joseba Albizu of Team Euskaltel-Euskadi when the car overturned after leaving the road near the town of Deba at approximately 6:40 am. Ormaetxea was taken to hospital but died soon afterward. The two were celebrating the end of the racing season.
