Johnny McDaid (aka John McDaid), formerly of the band Vega4, is a writer, producer and recording artist from Derry in Northern Ireland. He has written and produced records for Sony BMG, Universal, EMI, PIAS, Mushroom and Capitol Records. A collaboration with Paul Van Dyk resulted in Time Of Our Lives the single from the grammy nominated album Reflections. In 2009 he was working on his new album but it has been cancelled because of insufficient funds.

McDaid's songs have been featured on TV shows including, Grey's Anatomy, One Tree Hill, The Hills, Pushing Daisies and HBO season campaigns among others. His songs have also been heard on advertising campaigns including: Landrover, Jeep, RTÉ, and in feature movies including Into the Blue, The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants and Sex Drive. McDaid worked with producer Jacknife Lee on the Vega4 record "You And Others". Artists Johnny McDaid has worked with include Snow Patrol, Carina Round, Paul van Dyk, Iain Archer, Declan O'Rourke, Tonio K, Freelance Hellraiser, Helen Boulding, Bryn Christopher. McDaid's song "Home" written with Paul van Dyk is featured on the "Best of Paul Van Dyk" album "Volume" due to be released in the summer of 2009. As the singer and songwriter of the band Vega4, McDaid's song "Life Is Beautiful" was in the US Hot AC radio charts in the Top 40 for 12 weeks in 2007. "Life is Beautiful" is the song for the theatrical trailer of My Sister's Keeper, the new Nick Cassavetes Film starring Cameron Diaz and Alec Baldwin.
