John the Apostle was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus. He was the son of Zebedee and Salome, and brother of James, another of the Twelve Apostles. Zijn feestdag is in de Rooms-katholieke kerk op 27 december, in de Orthodoxe Kerk op 26 september en 8 mei.
