John Stapleton is an English television presenter. He joined the BBC current affairs television series Nationwide in 1975 as a reporter, and then became one of the main presenters on the programme from 1977 until 1980. During 1983-1985 he worked at TV-am as a reporter and as a presenter of Good Morning Britain. From 1986 until 1993 he presented the consumer programme Watchdog alongside his wife Lynn Faulds Wood, as well as the live morning talk show The Time, The Place from 1991-1996.

Since 1994 he can be seen as a presenter on GMTV. He only has one kidney that functions properly. In April 2008 he revealed, in a report for the BBC's The One Show, that when he was younger he suffered from the eating disorder anorexia nervosa for many years. He presented on the ITV News Channel several times and is one of the recent contributors to the BBC series Grumpy Old Men. He has one son, Nicholas James, who studies at Queen Mary, University of London. He is supporter of Manchester City since a young age when his father took him to see a match against Blackpool FC at Maine Road.
