John Morton OBE, FRS was the director of the now defunct Medical Research Council Cognitive Development Unit at University College London. He is at present a professor at the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience. His contributions are wide ranging from memory and its development in adults and children, multiple personality disorder, to causal models of developmental disorders, particularly autism and dyslexia. One of his most important theories was the logogen model of word recognition.
