He played for the St. Louis Cardinals three different times. In Mabry's only season with over 400 at bats, he batted for the cycle in a May 18, 1996 loss to the Colorado Rockies. He was one of the few major leaguers who preferred not to wear batting gloves. Mabry was also somewhat versatile on defense.
