Sir John Francis Davis, 1st Baronet KCB (1795 - 1890) was a British diplomat, Sinologist, and the 2nd Governor of Hong Kong. He was the son of Samuel Davis and nephew to William Thomas Mercer (later Colonial Secretary of Hong Kong).

- John Francis Davis var en engelsk sinolog og kolonipolitiker. John Davis ble utnevnt til skriver ved det britiske Ostindia-kompanis faktori i Kanton i 1813. Deretter fortsatte han ved faktoriet, og ble dets president i 1832. Han ble joint commissioner i Kina sammen med Lord Napier i 1834. Fra 1844 til 1848 var han superintendent for den britiske handelen i Kina og guvernør i Hongkong. I 1845 ble han opphøyd til baronet. Davis organiserte den første folketellingen i Hongkong, som kom til at byen hadde 23.988 innbyggere. Han ble ikke populær i Hongkong, noe som skyldtes skatter og avgifter som han innførte i den britiske kronkolonien.
