John Cunningham is the Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Galloway. Born in Paisley, he attended Saint Mary's College, Blairs, Aberdeen and Saint Peter's College, Cardross. He later attended the Scots College, Rome. John Cunningham was ordained priest at Paisley on 29 June 1961. From 1967-1981 he was extramural professor of Canon Law at Saint Peter's College, Glasgow. He was parish priest at Saint Patrick's, Greenock, from 1992-2004 and was appointed Papal Chaplain in 1994.
