John Bertrand Conlan (born September 17, 1930, in Oak Park, Illinois) is a retired U.S. lawyer and Republican politician. He served as a State Senator from 1965 to 1972 and as a United States Representative from Arizona from 1973 to 1977. In Congress, he was known as a strong and outspoken conservative. In 1976, he ran for the United States Senate to succeed retiring Republican Senator Paul Fannin . He was opposed in the Republican primary by fellow U.S. Representative Sam Steiger.

John Bertrand Conlan is a graduate of Northwestern University and Harvard Law School and did graduate studies at Universities of Virginia, Chicago, Cologne, Germany and the Hague Academy of International Law. He is a former faculty member who taught geo-politics and American foreign policy at Arizona State University and University of Maryland. Dr. Conlan is a former U.S. Army captain who served in the Pentagon and Germany. He traveled widely in over 80 countries, completing in the 1950s a rare feat of lone land travel from Berlin, Germany, to Cape Town, South Africa. Conlan has worked and lived outside the USA for some fifteen years. He is a former Press Secretary to Dr. Billy Graham. He lives in Virginia and Kiev, Ukraine, with his Ukrainian wife.
