Johann Bernhard Logier was a German music teacher. Logier was born in Kassel, and was first taught music by his father, a violinist. He moved to the United Kingdom in 1805, where he received further instruction and spent the remainder of his life, except for a three-year stay in Berlin (1822–25). He died in Dublin in 1846. Logier invented the Chiroplast, a pedagogical device that guides the hands and fingers while playing the piano.
