Joe Howe is an English footballer. He can play anywhere across the midfield as well as at full-back. Joe started his career at Milton Keynes Dons and was handed his first professional contract in the summer of 2006 and was looking forward to making an impression on the 1st team as he had been handed the number 37 jersey prior to the season starting but the arrival of Martin Allen, who did not rate Joe meant he was given a free transfer to Gravesend & Northfleet.

He left Gravesend & Northfleet at the end of the 2006/07 as he only made two substitute appearances. In August 2007, Joe went on trial with Northampton Town and impressed enough to earn a short-term contract with the club but after only a few weeks of signing the cotract Cobblers manager Stuart Gray took the decision of releasing him, saying new recruits meant Howe would struggle to make the bench. A few weeks afterwards, Howe signed for Conference North side Kettering Town F. C but found first team opportunities limited and signed for his local club Welling United a few months later. After finishing the season at Welling United, Joe left after being told he may not be in the first team squad every week after new manager Andy Ford had made drastic changes to the squad from the previous year after a disappointing relegation threatened season. Joe also had an unsuccessful trial at Crystal Palace towards the end of the 2007/2008 season featuring in a couple of reserve games. Joe took the opportunity to sign for Fisher Athletic and was captain until moving to Croydon Athletic in February 2009.
