Jim Symon is a Scottish broadcaster and voice-over artist, currently presenting STV's The Nightshift. Born and raised in Glasgow, Symon began his career at Radio Clyde in 1981 as a relief presenter for the Drivetime programme Clydewide Tonight. Afterwards, he continued to present various programmes for the station. By 1983, Symon had joined Scottish Television (now STV Central) as a continuity announcer and newsreader. During this time, he voiced many nationwide TV advertisements in the UK and was also chosen as the voice for a talking version of an Action Man toy.

After a stint presenting on West Sound Radio in Ayr, Symon joined Clyde 2, the AM station of Radio Clyde.
