- Jim Jeffries (spelled as "Jim Jefferies" in the United States) is an Australian comedian. Jeffries' first spike with regard to his international popularity came when he was attacked on stage while performing at the Manchester Comedy Store. The clip now has over 300,000 views on Youtube and well over 15 million views on multiple other video sites across the internet. At one time, Jeffries even incorporated the incident (and its video recording) into his act. This can be seen on his 2008 UK home video release, Contraband. Jeffries has performed at numerous festivals, including the Edinburgh Fringe, Montreal Comedy Festival, South African Comedy Festival Cape Town, Reading and Leeds Festivals and the Glastonbury Festival. He has appeared on BBC television shows such as Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Have I Got News For You, Heaven and Earth and 8 out of 10 Cats. He has also performed spots on The World Stands Up, Comedy Blue and Edinburgh and Beyond for the Paramount Comedy Channel. His most recent UK television appearance was as a guest on 8 Out of 10 Cats on 22 October 2008. In late 2007, Jeffries appeared on "The Opie and Anthony Show," a popular program hosted by the satellite radio network, XM (and, at the time, by FM radio network 92.3 KROCK in New York, NY). He would come to make regular appearances on the program, during which his openness and extreme candor would help him gain popularity with U.S. comedy fans. Show hosts Anthony Cumia, Gregg "Opie" Hughes and Jim Norton helped secure and subsequently promote Jeffries' most recent HBO special, I Swear To God, which has helped introduce him to a wider audience in the U.S. He has also featured on various other radio programs, including BBC Radio Five Live's U.K. -based Saturday morning sports show, Fighting Talk, becoming known on the show for his outspoken answers and distinctive laugh. Despite host Colin Murray's claims to the contrary, Jim's direct and politically incorrect answers leave Jim as one of the shows most popular guests. Recently, Jeffries relocated from his eight-year home in England to the Venice Beach section of Los Angeles, CA.
