Stanek has appeared on many television and radio shows, and she has been quoted extensively in newspapers. On June 4, 2009, Keith Olbermann named Stanek his "Worst Person in the World" Stanek accepted the award, while challenging the premise upon which it was granted. Stanek testified twice before the Judiciary Constitution Subcommittee of the U.S. House of Representatives, and in several state legislatures. She is also a frequent speaker at state and local pro-life events. Stanek ran for the Republican nomination for the Illinois House of Representatives in 2002, on a pro-life platform, but was defeated. On November 5, 2003, President George Bush invited her to his signing of the Partial Birth Abortion Ban. As of 2009, she lives in Mokena, Illinois.
