As a nanny for Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan's three children, Hoop gained both musical experience and notoriety.

" The Los Angeles Times considers Hoop one of ten Southern California artists that are "new and notable in 2007. " In 2007 she toured with Polyphonic Spree, 2008 with Elbow and also with Mark Knopfler, and in 2009 with Greg Laswell. Hoop announced in Sept. 2008 that she would be releasing a Kismet Acoustic album in Oct. 2008, featuring one new song and four acoustic versions of tracks from her debut CD. On July 5, 2009, Hoop announced through her myspace page that she has finished recording her second album, entitled Hunting My Dress. It will be released sometime in the fall.
