Among her most popular recordings were several duets with Roman Tam, such as the music from TVB's 1982 adaptation The Legend of the Condor Heroes. She is the widow of kung fu movie star Alexander Fu Sheng, who died in a 1983 car accident. She and her late husband had no children; however in 1987, Tseng gave birth to a daughter, Melody. Somewhat controversially, she has refused to name the father to the present day. Tseng has also clarified her close relationship with her daughter, occasionally referring to her as a 'friend' rather than a daughter-mother relationship. In addition to singing, Tseng is a successful entrepreneur and has also acted in several films during the 1970s and 1980s. She is considered as one of the most famous singers belonging to the 1960s 1970s and 1980s in which she is frequently compared to her fellow rivals such as Teresa Teng and Fung Fei Fei. Many of her songs have reached to a classical staus, similar to those of Teresa Teng. She now spends most of her time developing an organic farm in Taoyuan, Taiwan. She still performs and is expected to embark on a world tour in the fall of 2009.
