Zunächst erschienen das Album Ding Dong sowie die Maxi-Single Keine Melodien auf dem Berliner Label Kitty-Yo. Das Video zu Keine Melodien schafft es in die Heavy Rotation des Musikfernsehens und erreicht so auch ein Mainstream-Publikum – die Single verkauft sich etwa 15.000 mal. Ende 2002 spielen Jeans Team zusammen mit Tarwater eine Peel Session ein. Die Band tourte erfolgreich in fast allen europäischen Ländern, das Lied Hi Fans! wurde von Motorola als Musik für einen Mobilfunkwerbespot in Asien benutzt. Als Surrogat-Chef und Jeans-Team-Fan Patrick Wagner Kitty-Yo verlässt, geht die Band mit ihm. Seit 2004 veröffentlicht die Band auf Wagners neu gegründetem Label Louisville Rec..
