Jean-Baptiste Morin (Orléans, February 2, 1677 — Paris, April 27, 1745) was a French composer and the "Ordinaire de la Musique" to Philippe, Duke of Orléans during his regency. He penned numerous works, including most famously a set of cantatas (published between 1706 and 1712). These provided a fusion of a French with the Italian style then popular at the Regent's court.

Morin noted in the preface to the 1706 edition his efforts "to retain the sweetness of the French style of melody, but with greater variety in the accompaniments, and employing those tempos and modulations characteristic of the Italian cantata.". Morin dedicated the volume to his royal sponsor. His divertissement La Chasse du cerf provides the hunting call motif that Haydn later employed in his Symphony no. 73.

Aus seiner Feder stammen zahlreiche Werke, darunter zwei Bände mit ein- bis zweistimmigen Motetten (1704 und 1709) und zwei Bände mit Kantaten (1706 und 1712), die er im sogenannten „vermischten Stil“ oder „les goûts réunis“ komponierte, in diesem vermischen sich französische Elemente mit dem italienischen Stil. Im Vorwort der Ausgabe der Kantaten von 1706 beschreibt Morin seine diesbezüglichen Bemühungen. In seinem bekanntesten Werk, dem Divertissement „La Chasse du cerf“ (Fontainebleau, 1709) gebrauchte er das Jagdmotiv, welches Joseph Haydn in seiner 73. Symphonie wiederverwendete.
