Janet Laurel Adamson was a Labour politician in the United Kingdom. Janet "Jenny" Adamson was originally elected a Member of Parliament (MP) for Dartford in a by-election in 1938. In the United Kingdom general election, 1945, after boundary changes, Adamson was elected MP for Bexley. She resigned in 1946, precipitating a by-election won by Labour candidate Ashley Bramall. The constituency was subsequently gained by future Prime Minister Edward Heath.
