James Oswald Dykes (1835-1912) was a Scottish Presbyterian clergyman and educator, born at Port Glasgow. He studied at the universities of Edinburgh, Heidelberg, and Erlangen, and was ordained to the Presbyterian ministry in 1859. From 1861 to 1864 he served with Dr. Candlish of Free St. George's Church, Edinburgh. In 1869 he was appointed minister of the Regent Square Presbyterian Church, London.
