The couple were married on 29 May 1999 in the chapel of the Palace of Westminster, namely the Houses of Parliament in London followed by a "lavish" reception at The Dorchester Hotel. The reception netted the couple a £400,000 deal from Hello! magazine for exclusive rights. They appeared on the front cover of issue 567 of 6 July 1999 Health Major had to be taken to hospital after blacking out in March 1999 when he was with fiancé Emma, at a dinner. He was taken to St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, where he was admitted overnight. Child The couple have a son, Harrison, known as "Harry", born in July 2000. The son was later diagnosed as autistic. Divorce The union ended in an acrimonious divorce in 2003 with Emma accusing James of "unreasonable behaviour". Emma was granted a "quickie" decree nisi on the uncontested grounds that her husband had behaved in such a way that she could not reasonably be expected to continue living with him. Affair In September 2008 it was reported that Major had set up home with the married deputy headmistress of his son's school, Mrs Kate Postlethwaite. The affair shocked the school community of Cromwell Park Primary in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, as well as her husband of just under a year Russell Postlethwaite. Postlethwaite blasted Major for "stealing" his wife, Major is reported to have said "What's the difference between stolen and seeing someone?".
