Jake Dylan Wood (born 12 July 1972 in London) is an English actor, best known in the United Kingdom for playing Max Branning on "EastEnders". He is the current voice of the GEICO gecko. His first acting role was in the 1985 film Flesh & Blood. He has since appeared in several television series such as May to December, Only Fools and Horses, Murder in Mind, Sean's Show, Inspector Morse, One Foot in the Grave, Red Dwarf, A Touch of Frost, The Bill, Sea of Souls and Doc Martin.

Additionally, he appeared in Le Café des Rêves, a five-part serial drama produced by the BBC for French students. He also appeared as two different characters in the series Press Gang. He made a brief appearance in the episode "The Rest of My Life", and played an accidental killer in "Killer on the Line". He appeared in a few episodes of London's Burning as Kevin Medhurst's delinquent brother's friend. Jake also appeared in a Miss Marple mystery; They Do It With Mirrors. Jake starred in the 1989 Yellow Pages TV Advert, entitled "Party Party". Jake Wood is the current voice of the GEICO gecko. Jake also featured alongside Cobent CTO and ex-Metal Hammer journalist Tony Dillon as part of a team presenting Click, a computer games magazine on VHS video in the early 1990s. Jake Wood also played the eldest son, Dougie, in sitcom family "The Wilsons. " The 1997 Channel 4 show was named after the family and can now be watched on the channel's on demand service, 4OD. In June 2006, he joined the BBC soap opera EastEnders playing tough guy and serial womaniser Max Branning. In March 2008, he took paternity leave and re-appeared on screen on 23 June 2008. He has two children named Amber (born 2005) and Buster (born 2008). For his work in Eastenders, he has won a British Soap and Inside Soap Award.
