The Chinese-language media refers to him, Aaron Kwok, Andy Lau and Leon Lai as the Cantopop Four Heavenly Kings (四大天王). Cheung is nicknamed the "God of Songs" (歌神). However he is the second person to have the title. Former Cantopop star Sam Hui is generally considered the "first generation God of Songs".
