Altogether, Italians continue to be the 5th largest ethnic group in Canada after British and Irish origins, French origin and German origin.

Les Italo-Canadiens firent naître de nouveaux types de commerces et d'entreprises qui débutèrent avec les connaissances et l’expérience des immigrants italiens durant les années 1880 à 1968, comme de nombreux types d’artisans et d’importateurs de produits italiens. Ils augmentaient la quantité de main d’œuvre et le bassin de population de la ville. À leur arrivée au Canada, les immigrants italiens créèrent plusieurs ligues de soccer, un sport peu connu dans leur pays d'accueil. En 2006, les Italo-Canadiens ont mené une lutte auprès de la CRTC pour avoir le droit d'écouter la station italienne RAI.
