- Isabelle Boulay ist eine frankokanadische Pop- und Chanson-Sängerin. Ihre Karriere begann, als sie 1990 gegen ihren Willen von Freunden beim Chanson-Festival von Petite-Vallée angemeldet wurde. Sie errang dabei sehr großen Erfolg. 1991 nahm sie am renommierten Chanson-Festival von Granby teil, das sie mit ihrer Interpretation von Jacques Brels "Amsterdam" gewann. Im selben Jahr wurde sie zum Festival Francofolies in Montréal eingeladen. 1993 startete sie für Radio Canada beim Festival "Truffe de Périgueux" in Périgord, Frankreich. Sie gewann dort die Wettbewerbs-Kategorie "chanson francophone". In der Folgezeit wurde sie unter anderem von Luc Plamondon und Francis Cabrel gefördert. 1996 veröffentlichte sie mit "Fallait pas" ihr erstes Solo-Album, dem seither acht weitere folgten, zuletzt 2007 das Studioalbum "De retour à la source". Unter ihren Alben findet sich auch ein im "Olympia" in Paris aufgenommene Live-Album namens "Du temps pour toi".

A seguito del suo successo in Francia venne notata dal celebre autore Luc Plamondon, mentre era in cerca di nuovi talenti per una riedizione della sua celebre opera rock Starmania, scritta assieme a Michel Berger, che nel passato ha avuto come interpreti molto nomi illustri come Céline Dion, Tom Jones, Cyndi Lauper, Nina Hagen. Nella nuova edizione di Starmania, Isabelle interpretò il ruolo di Marie-Jeanne. Nel 1996 presta la sua voce al personaggio "Alys Robi" nell'omonima serie tv e pubblica il suo primo album Fallait pas. Dal 1996 al 2008 ha pubblicato 10 album, fra cui il live Au moment d'etre à vous, in cui reinterpreta grandi successi della musica francese. Nella sua carriera ha duettato con molti artisti del calibro di Charles Aznavour, Johnny Hallyday e Gilbert Bécaud. Nel 2008 è uscita il suo decimo album "Nos Lendemains", che contiene due cover: una versione francese di Coucouroucoucou Paloma e L'appuntamento.
