IBSS includes approximately 2.5 million references to journal articles, books, reviews and selected chapters and is growing at the rate of about 100,000 items per annum. Over 280 journals are regularly indexed and some 7,000 books included each year. IBSS covers international material with 25 per cent of references in languages other than English and with over 50 per cent of journals covered published outside the US or UK. IBSS records date back to 1951. Abstracts are available for over 75 per cent of current journal articles and links are available to the full text of articles in journals subscribed to by individual institutions.
