IBO tuottaa opetusohjelmat englanniksi, ranskaksi ja espanjaksi, joista Suomessa on käytössä englanti. Vieraasta opetuskielestä huolimatta IB ei ole kielikoulu – itse asiassa kielten osuus opetuksesta ja varsinkin arvostelusta on vähäinen verrattuna suomalaiseen ylioppilastutkintoon.
