Frühere Erfahrungen werden frei von Vorurteilen miteinbezogen und erweitert, die Bereitschaft zum Dazulernen ist ausgeprägt. Transkulturelle Kompetenz wird vielfach synonym zu interkultureller Kompetenz verwendet. Oft werden bei der Verwendung dieses Begriffs aber kulturübergreifende Kompetenzen stärker betont, etwa die Sozialkompetenz.
