InforSense was founded in 1999 to commercialize pioneering, award-winning technology in the fields of High Performance Computing and Large Scale Data Mining developed at Imperial College, London. Initial backing came from Fleming Private Equity and Partners in 2000, followed by a major UK e-science grant in 2002. At the same time InforSense signed an IP transfer agreement with Imperial College for commercialisation of the technology.
