Incubus is an American Grammy Award-nominated rock band, from Calabasas, California. Formed in 1991 by vocalist Brandon Boyd, lead guitarist Mike Einziger, and drummer Jose Pasillas while enrolled in high school. The band expanded to include bassist Alex Katunich (a.k.a. "Dirk Lance"), and Gavin Koppell (a.k.a. "DJ Lyfe"), both of whom were eventually replaced by bassist Ben Kenney, and DJ Kilmore, respectively.

Dit wordt door vele aangenomen, hoewel de band zegt dat het niet specifiek gaat over deze president van Amerika, maar over de algemene westerse politiek. Over de eerste single van het nieuwe album Light Grenades, Anna-Molly, was ook nogal wat ophef. Veel DJ's en fans dachten dat het liedje als 'animaly' uit gesproken moest worden, andere dachten dat het liedje 'Anal-molly' heette, naar een porno-ster. Een andere verklaring zou kunnen liggen in het woord "anomaly", wat "onregelmatigheid" of een "ongewone gebeurtenis" betekent. Maar de band verhelderede de situatie rond de titel:'Anna-Molly' is de echte naam, en het heet zo omdat het perfecte meisje(waar het liedje over gaat) ook zo zou heten. De band heeft voor de naam gekozen, niet omdat Incubus een demon is en daardoor gruwelijk kan klinken of dat er een diepe gedachte achter zit, maar omdat er na uren nadenken over een bandnaam een van de bandleden het Engels woordenboek heeft opengeslagen en willekeurig een woord koos.
