Ikwerre (also Ikwere) is a language of the Ikwerre-igbo subgroup} spoken by over 1,980,000 people (according to the 1991 census) in Nigeria. Ikwerre (an igbo dialect) is the major language spoken in Rivers State of Nigeria. The ikwere people like the Abakaliki people of Ebonyi state and other parts of the igbo nation, have their own variation of igbo pronunciations and speech.
