"I'd Come For You" is being released as the second single in Europe in place of "If Today Was Your Last Day", similar to All the Right Reasons when "Far Away" was released in Europe and "Savin' Me" was released in the US and Canada. It was produced by famed rock producer Mutt Lange, who produced the entire album. The song was originally released as a digital download in the U.S. on November 11, where it climbed to #11 on iTunes top selling songs in the U.S. "If Today Was Your Last Day" was released in the UK on the 15th June. The song was performed live for the very first time on May 22nd at the M.E. N Arena Manchester. According to Roadrunner Records UK, the song is "dynamically swelling our bank accounts". The song has also apparently been around with Nickelback for a while, but had never been finished. The lead vocalist/guitarist Chad Kroeger has mentioned the song as his personal favorite from Dark Horse. He had described the middle part of the song as "very motivational, and very positive". The song features on Kerrang! The Album '09.

Utwór został wydany w Kanadzie, gdzie był puszczany w lokalnym radiu 104.5 CHUM FM, gdzie zajmował odpowiednio #2 oraz #12 miejsce w zestawieniu "CHUM Chart Top 30". Następnie utwór zaczął być puszczany w innych lokalnych rozgłośniach radiowych, m. in CIDC-FM oraz CKFM-FM. Producentem utworu jak i całego albumu są wokalista grupy Chad Kroeger, który jest także autorem tekstu, oraz Mutt Lange oraz Joe Moi. Muzykę skomponował wspólnie cały zespół. Miksem utworu zajął się Mike Shipley. Prócz wydania utworu w formie digital download, piosenka została udostępniona 11 listopada na portalu iTunes, gdzie zajął 11 miejsce wśród najczęściej słuchanych utworów. Utwór If Today Was Your Last Day zadebiutował na #35 pozycji listy Billboard Hot 100 w Stanach Zjednoczonych, oraz na 91 miejscu na liście Canadian Hot 100, gdzie konsekwentnie piął się w górę i dotarł do miejsca #23. Premiera koncertowa utworu nastąpiła podczas koncertu grupy w Manchester Evening News Arena w Manchesterze w Anglii, 22 maja 2009 roku. Wokalista grupy, Chad Kroeger, przyznał iż jest to jego ulubiona piosenka z albumu Dark Horse. Uważa że ma bardzo motywujący i pozytywny przekaz. 15 czerwca 2009 nastąpiła premiera singla w Wielkiej Brytanii. Utwór trafił także na składankę Now That's What I Call Music!, która jest wydawana jedynie na terenie Wielkiej Brytanii.
