ISO 3166-2:ES is the entry in ISO 3166-2, part of the ISO 3166 standard published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), which defines codes for the names of the principal subdivisions of Spain (whose ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code is ES). Currently two levels of subdivisions are assigned codes: 17 autonomous communities — Each code consists of one or two letters.

Currently two levels of subdivisions are assigned codes: 17 autonomous communities — Each code consists of one or two letters. 50 provinces and 2 autonomous cities in North Africa — Each code starts with ES-, followed by one or two letters, which was originally used in the vehicle registration plates of Spain. Some of the codes are taken from the names of the capitals: BI: Bilbao GC: Las Palmas de Gran Canaria LO: Logroño O: Oviedo PM: Palma S: Santander SS: San Sebastián VI: Vitoria
  • Die Codes wurden von der ISO insgesamt dreimal aktualisiert, bzw. überarbeitet (2000 und zweimal 2002). Im ersten Newsletter vom 21. Juni 2000 wurden ein Schreibfehler behoben und bei zwei Provinzen die alternative Schreibweise der regionalen Amtssprache hinzugefügt. In der vierten ISO 3166-2-Bekanntmachung vom 10. Dezember 2002 bekam die Provinz Balearische Inseln (Islas Baleares) denselben Geocode wie die Autonome Gemeinschaft/Region Balearische Inseln IB. Zuvor hatte die Provinz, die völlig identisch mit der Autonomen Gemeinschaft/Region ist, den separaten Geocode PM.

Si riportano anche i codici per le comunità autonome che non sono parte dello standard ISO.
