Blige to record the song "I'll Be There for You", which interpolated elements from Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell's 1968 hit, "You're All I Need to Get By" sung by Blige and used the raps from Method Man's "All I Need" and retitled "I'll Be There for You/You're All I Need to Get By". It is also known as "I'll Be There for You/You're All I Need to Get By (Razor Sharp Mix)". Because of the elements used from the Gaye/Terrel song, original writers Nickolas Ashford and Valerie Simpson were credited with writing the hip-hop soul-styled song, which went to number three on the pop charts and number one on the R&B singles chart, a position it held for three weeks . The version also ended up at winning the duo the Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group. Another version was released, called the Puff Daddy mix, which was produced by Sean Combs and repeatedly used a sample from The Notorious B.I.G. 's "Me And My Bitch" from his debut album, Ready to Die. ("Lie together, cry together/I swear to God I hope we fuckin' die together") It also appears on Radio 1 Established 1967, a compilation album celebrating the 40th anniversary of BBC Radio 1. In 2008, it ranked number 44 on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of Hip Hop.
