- How to Destroy Angels is a studio album by Coil. At this point, the group consisted only of John Balance and Peter Christopherson. It was originally released in 1984 on L.A.Y.L.A.H. Antirecords, but was later re-pressed in 1988. The record has two songs on it, one taking up each side in its entirety. What the B-side contained fluctuated over repressings: the first edition contained noise-filled grooves, the second edition held playable, multi-layered music, and the third edition contained a flat, grooveless face. Originally, "How to Destroy Angels" was intended to be the B-side of the track "Silence and Secrecy", but due to Christopherson and Balance leaving Psychic TV, owners of Temple Records, the idea was shelved. "Silence and Secrecy" has only been released in partial form by way of a two minute excerpt on the Zos Kia and early Coil retrospective Transparent. Remixes of How to Destroy Angels appeared on an album of the same name, How To Destroy Angels (remix CD).

Pierwsze wydanie płyty ukazało się w 1984 nakładem L.A.Y.L.A.H. Antirecords, reedycja ukazała się w 1988. Na płycie znajdują się dwa utwory, Na stronie B znajdują się, w zależności od edycji, ścieżki rejestrujące jedynie niezrozumiały hałas, ścieżki z wielowarstwową muzyką lub też strona B jest zupełnie płaska (trzecia edycja). Pierwotnie, "How to Destroy Angels" miał być stroną B płyty "Silence and Secrecy", ale w zwiazku z opuszczeniem przez Christophersona i Balance'a Psychic TV, związanej z Temple Records, pomysł został zarzucony. "Silence and Secrecy" jedynie w dwuminutowym fragmencie pojawiło się na albumie Transparent, dokumentującym wczesne dokonania Zos Kia i Coila.
