Hott Beat are a Washington, D.C. -based synthpunk duo composed of 'J. Flourish' (Jason Barnett of Paroxysm Records) and 'Hottessa' (Angela Melkisethian of Partyline). The band was formed in the summer of 2002. In 2003, Hott Beat released a demo CDr called "Krunk Pop". Their debut CD, A Hott Mess, on Paroxysm Records appeared in August of 2004. They have toured with bands such as Gravy Train!!!!, among others. In January 2005, Hottessa appeared on the 4th season of American Idol.
