The video is an answer video to the sexually-themed "I Got a Crush on Obama" video also found on YouTube, early in the video the singer refuses to answer an incoming cell phone call purportedly from Clinton opponent Barack Obama. The "answer" task is made more complicated, however, by the common gender of the performer and politician. Southern, while acting as a schoolteacher addressing a class of young children, sings and dances in a variety of revealing costumes and in a sexually ambiguous manner in support of Clinton, going back and forth between how she admires her leadership qualities and how she admires her looks and body, and insinuates that she desires Clinton in a sexual manner. At one point in the song, she says "I know you're not gay, but I'm hoping for Bi ... lingual. " At another point the visually anticipated word "thighs" is replaced by "policies". Within two weeks "Hott4Hill" had 600,000 views on YouTube, and Southern was gaining national media attention. To clarify the sexuality question, Southern said on CNN that she is straight.
