- Hogi Yogi is a fast-food restaurant chain specializing in submarine sandwiches ("hogis") and frozen yogurt ("yogis"). A subsidiary of HYATS LLC with sister brands Teriyaki Stix and Yoasis, there are approximately 70 locations throughout Utah, Idaho, Arizona, Nevada, and California. The chain was founded in 1989 by former Subway employee Mike Clayton in Logan, Utah. Shortly thereafter, Clayton moved headquarters to Provo, Utah where he earned his MAcc at Brigham Young University several years previous. In 1995, Mike Clayton and his brother Rick founded a complementary business called Teriyaki Stix, a restaurant specializing in chicken-bowl style Japanese food, similar to Hibachi-San. Furthermore, in 2003, the two restaurantuers started Glazies Bakery, which specialized in fresh donuts; however, in 2008 the sister company was closed and replaced by Yoasis, a healthy frozen yogurt restaurant. While the respective HYAT restaurants can sometimes be found individually, by design, HYAT frequently rents larger areas to furnish all three restaurant types.
