  • Hinderdam is een buurtschap in de gemeente Wijdemeren, in de Nederlandse provincie Noord-Holland. Het ligt aan de rivier de Vecht ongeveer 2 kilometer ten noorden van Nederhorst den Berg. Het telde in 2007 70 inwoners. De naam Hinderdam is ontleend aan een dam met sluizen die hier in 1437 op de grens van Utrecht en Holland door de bisschop van Utrecht is aangelegd. Het Fort Hinderdam ligt op een eiland in de Vecht, ontstaan door een bochtafsnijding rond 1555-1556 waarbij de zeesluizen verplaatst werden van het Noorden naar het Zuiden. Na 1672 zijn deze sluizen verplaatst naar Muiden.
