Hib-Tone was the name of an Atlanta-based recording label founded by Johnny Hibbert, a law student at the University of Georgia, in 1981. The label only lasted through four releases from 1981-1985, and never released a full length album by any artist. The label was made famous owing to the fact that it released R.E.M. 's debut single, "Radio Free Europe" and its B-side, "Sitting Still". Both songs were re-recorded and released on the band's first full length album Murmur.
