The pair decided to start something new with loftier ideals and aspirations - Headway was born. They soon recruited two more members - Dave Shaggy Astbury on bass and Johnny Dakers on drums (later replaced by David Wrights brother Jay). The material they started playing needed something else keyboard player Tom Harrison was poached from another band and the line-up was complete. They have been compared to acts such as Artic Monkeys, Ash, Blink-182, Supergrass, and Dinosaur Jr.. The Headway sound is elegant piano mixed with a driving rhythm section and swooping rock guitars. Beautifully crafted songs are overlaid with the unique voice and melodies of David Wright. Not just a mesmerizing vocalist, but a great front man too the kind of front man that the UK are renowned for producing. They gained a following within the English club scene, and struck a record deal with newly founded Suretone Records after Jordan Schur, the label's president, saw one of their concerts. Their song "Lord Knows" appeared on the popular US tv drama ER. They are working on their debut album due sometime in the fall working with famed producer Josh Abraham who worked with acts such as 30 Seconds to Mars and Velvet Revolver. They toured with OneRepublic during the UK leg of their tour.
