- Haut-Médoc is an Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) for wine in the Bordeaux wine region of southwestern France, on the Left Bank of the Gironde estuary. Covering a large part of the viticultural strip of land along the Médoc peninsula, the zone covers approximately 60 kilometres (37 mi) of its length, . As defined by the original Institut National des Appellations d'Origine (INAO) decree of November 14, 1936, its southern edge borders the city of Bordeaux and the Médoc AOC to the north, encompassing fifteen communes exclusive to the appellation, while at the same time it enclaves six appellations made up of nine communes that are technically wine-making communes of Haut-Médoc. Similarly, Haut-Médoc is a sub-appellation of the Médoc AOC. Of Haut-Médoc's fifteen wine-producing communes, eight are located along the waterfront of Garonne and Gironde: Blanquefort, Parempuyre, Ludon, Macau, Arcins, Lamarque, Cussac and Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne. Seven communes lie inland: Le Taillan, Le Pian-Médoc, Avensan, Saint-Laurent-Médoc. Saint-Sauveur, Cissac and Vertheuil. Few of the estates falling within the Haut-Médoc borders were included in the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855 (as all but six of the 62 are located within the AOCs Margaux, Saint-Julien, Pauillac and Saint-Estèphe), but several were included in the eventually discontinued classification Cru Bourgeois.

Die aktuelle Anbaufläche beträgt ca. 4.900 Hektar und die jährliche Erntemenge liegt bei ca. 290.000 Hektolitern Rotwein. Innerhalb dieses Weinbaugebiets liegen die sehr bekannten Gemeindeappellationen Margaux, Moulis, Listrac, Pauillac, Saint-Estèphe und Saint-Julien. Die Rebflächen verteilen sich auf die 29 Gemeinden Blanquefort, Le Taillan, Parempuyre, Le Pian, Ludon, Macau, Arsac, Labarde, Cantenac, Margaux, Avensan, Castelnau-de-Médoc, Soussans, Arcins, Moulis, Listrac, Lamarque, Cussac, Saint-Laurent-Médoc, Saint-Julien, Pauillac, Saint-Sauveur, Cissac, Saint-Estèphe, Vertheuil und Saint-Seurin de Cadourne. Die Vorschrift der Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée verlangt, dass der Most mindestens 170 g Zucker pro Liter enthält. Nach der Gärung muss der Mindestalkoholgehalt im Wein 10 Vol. Prozent betragen. Der Basisertrag liegt mit 48 hl/ha über dem der Gemeinde-Appellationen. Zugelassene Rebsorten sind Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Carménère, Merlot, Malbec und Petit Verdot. Die Pflanzdichte muss zwischen 6.500 und 10.000 Rebstöcken / Hektar liegen.
- Haut-Médoc ("Alto Médoc") es una Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) de vino en la región vinícola de Burdeos en el suroeste de Francia, en la orilla izquierda del estuario de la Gironda. Abarca gran parte de la franja vitícola de la tierra a lo largo de la península de Médoc, a lo largo de unos 60 kilómetros. Tal como quedó definida en el decreto del INAO de 14 de noviembre de 1936, su límite meridional limita con la ciudad de Burdeos y la AOC Médoc al norte, abarcando 15 comunas exclusivas de la denominación, mientras que al mismo tiempo tiene enclavadas seis apelaciones de nueve comunas que son técnicamente comunas vinícolas del Haut-Médoc. Del mismo modo, Haut-Médoc es una sub-denominación de la AOC Médoc. De las 15 comunas productoras, ocho están en la orilla del Garona y la Gironda: Blanquefort, Parempuyre, Ludon, Macau, Arcins, Lamarque, Cussac y Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne. Siete comunas quedan tierra adentro: Le Taillan, Le Pian-Médoc, Avensan, Saint-Laurent-Médoc, Saint-Sauveur, Cissac y Vertheuil. Pocas fincas dentro de los límites del Haut-Médoc se incluyeron en la Clasificación Oficial del Vino de Burdeos de 1855 (pues todas salvo 6 de las 62 se encuentran en las AOC Margaux, Saint-Julien, Pauillac y Saint-Estèphe), pero varias se incluyeron en la clasificación Cru Bourgeois.
- Le vignoble du Haut Médoc est situé dans le Bordelais. Classé AOC par le décret du 14 novembre 1936 (modifié par celui du 24 mars 1998), il couvre une superficie d’environ 4 680 hectares (en 2005) pour une production moyenne de 250 000 hl. C'est la plus vaste des appellations du Médoc.
- Region Haut-Médoc stanowi większą, południową część rejonu Médoc w ramach Bordeaux w zachodniej Francji. Wina produkowane tam są przede wszystkim ze szczepów Cabernet Sauvignon oraz Merlot Najbardziej znane wina z tego rejonu pochodzą z Châteaux Belgrave, Château de Camensac, Château Cantemerle, Châteaux La Lagune oraz Châteaux La Tour Carnet.
